In Sun City West, AZ Samadhi designed pastoral counseling programs and sacred site exploration in the desert. In San Diego, she now develops programs focusing on loss and sexual issues. She has published “Sexaholism” in Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity: Journal of Prevention and Treatment and is publishing the innovative non-fiction work, SCALDED.

*   Teddy Charles, one of the original members of Samadhi Research Institute’s Board of Directors, has over twenty years of experience with cults and humanistic therapies.  She is the co-author of SCALDED: The Making and Undoing of an Extremist, General Manager of a successful property investment company and lives in San Diego.  She is currently working on a new novel.

*   Debi Carey, has been an environmental non-profit administrator for seven years. She brings to Samadhi Research solid experience with the financial aspects of nonprofit management. Since 1990 she has been part of a political action group that has set the standard for quality of life issues in the small beach community where she resides. She nurtures her creative side with photography, desktop publishing, and computer art. She has two adult children and one spanking new grandson. She is a strong supporter of 12 Step programs and feels strongly aligned with the work of Samadhi Research in addressing issues of sexual addiction, abuse and dysfunction that oppress so many people today.


*   Jean Di Carlo-Wagner, M.A., RYT comes to Samadhi Research Institute to serve in a support capacity to this necessary work. Her personal and professional background includes experience in caring for family, close friends and community members who struggle with issues that affect spiritual, emotional and mental growth. Her twenty-eight years of teaching and continued education in yoga volunteer service in the cancer community bring broad perspectives to the Institute.


*   Norman Torgerson served seven years on the Board of Trustees of an international charitable organization. He served as the Co-chair of the organization for two years and chaired the board meetings for a year. He also chaired the executive committee, sat on the finance committee for six years and chaired their conference planning committee for three years. He continues to serve on that committee.

Norman has more than eleven years experience dealing with the problems addressed by Samadhi Research. In addition, he works as a classroom tutor with young children. His goal is to keep students from falling behind their peers.
